ASTON HALL re-sign Nicholas Smit following their inaugural season in the Yorkshire Premier League South in 2016.

Smit (23) is a genuine all-rounder who was named the Gauteng Premier League’s “Club Cricketer of the Year” in 2013/14 and topped the League wicket-charts.

Subsequently he was not only picked for the Strikers High Performance Squad, but also drafted into the Lenasia Premier League for the Shakti Tigers.

Over the past two seasons, Smit has also starred abroad for Aston Hall, firstly in the South Yorkshire (Championship Division) in 2015 (618 runs at 41.20 and 26 wickets at 26.54), helping the club secure promotion, then in the Yorkshire Premier League South in 2016 (658 runs at 47 and 22 wickets at 23.73).

Smit hopes to emulate his form when he returns to Aston Hall for a third stint in the ECB Yorkshire Premier League South next summer.
