Ben Speake shooting for the Stars - 20/08/14

Ben Speake Profile KIWI batsman Ben Speake will join Victorian Turf Cricket Association club Doutta Stars for the 2014/15 Australian season.

Speake (23), who is currently plying his trade in the Sussex League for Three Bridges will join West Indies test player Brenton Parchment at the  VTCA North Division club.

The promising kiwi is currently the third leading run-scorer in the ECB Premier League (503 runs at 38.69) having enjoyed a fantastic maiden stint abroad with Birmingham League club Quatt last summer (924 runs at 57.75 and 21 wickets at 25).

Over the past few years, Speake has also been a stand‐out performer in the Hamilton Premier Competition, topping the run charts in 2012/13 (677 runs at 45.13).

His exploits for Star University and Hamilton's provincial ‘B’ side has culminated with senior Hamiton selection for the national Hawke Cup competition and Speake has set his stall out to acheive higher honouors.ed out for the Sussex Martlets.

Speake though, is due to make the move across the ditch for the 2014/15 season and is hoping he can guide the Stars to silverware this summer.
