Bromley secure South African Smit - 30/10/15

Matthew Smit-Sep-2015BROMLEY sign outstanding batsman Matthew Smit for their next season in the KCL Premier Division.


Smit is a fantastic prospect from South Africa who, playing for Linden Park last summer, topped the Kent League Division 1 run charts with 868 runs at 57.87.

In his previous season with OD CUACO, he struck 1,157 runs at a rate of 96.42, including 6 centuries, topping the Kent League Division 4 run charts.

During his two seasons in Kent, he has scored an impressive total of 4,293 runs at 76.66 and has taken 75 wickets at 16.52 across all formats.

In his native South Africa, Smit has played in the Gauteng Premier League for Jeppe Quandam in Johannesburg’s top flight club competition and has represented Gauteng Under-17’s.

Smit is keen to be playing top class cricket in the UK and has now signed for KCL Premier Division side Bromley ahead of their 2016 campaign.
