Chippenham lock in Darryl Losper - 24/10/14

Darryl Losper CHIPPENHAM have signed promising South African all-rounder Darry Losper for their 2015 WEPL campaign.

The Wiltshire club are hoping their new recruit will help them improve on their 8th place finish in the Glos/Wilts division of the West of England Premier League next summer.

Losper (22) isa genuine pace bowling all-rounder playing for Kuilsriver in the Western Province Cricket Association (1B), having recently moved from the Boland Premier League.

He has represented the Boland and South African Rural XI sides (in 2013) and has enjoyed two successful stints abroad in 2012 and 2014.

The young South African made quite an impression during his maiden UK league stint in 2012. Playing for Cromford Meadows in the Derbyshire County League, Losper smashed 539 runs at 59.89, including 2 hundreds and a highest score of 152*. He also weighed in with 28 wickets at 13.07 in the 11 matches he played before returning home mid-July.

Last summer, he played in the strong Ribblesdale Cricket League for Padiham. The all-rounder scored 518 runs at 25.90 and took 37 wickets at 20.54 in what was a solid season.

Losper is now looking forward to his new challenge with Chippenham in 2015.
