Cornwood re-sign Jackson Thompson - 13/10/14

Jackson Thompson Portrait CORNWOOD have re-signed explosive batsman Jackson Thompson ahead of their 2015 Devon League campaign.

Thompson (28) struck 469 runs at 31.26 and took 10 wickets at 25.70 for the club in the Premier League last summer, but he's eager to improve on these numbers in 2015.

The left-handed batsman / off-spinner who spent three years on the County circuit playing for Gloucestershire, Middlesex and most recently the Unicorns, boasts an impressive league cricket record over the past decade.

In addition to Cornwood last year, he has represented Bradninch (2013), Frocester (2012), Stanmore (2010) and predominantly Cheltenham (2002-11) over the years.

He completely dominated the 2011 and 2013 seasons in-particular, hitting 20 sixes amongst 663 runs at 47.36 plus 38 wickets at 15.13 during the former, then 822 runs at 54.80 with a league record 222 for Bradninch. His runs in 2013 were scored at the incredible strike rate of 149.

Thompson has decided to return to Cornwood next summer and help the club avenge their relegation and push for Devon Premier League return.
