CricX stars light up Grade Cricket - 25/11/14

Shane Devoy CRICX stars Shane Devoy and Michael Spaseski produced two outstanding performances in grade cricket this weekend.

The ACT Comets pair excelled for their respective clubs - Spaseski with the bat, Devoy with the ball to feature in the Weet-Bix MyCricket top five grade performances.

Explosive batsman Spaseski bashed a brilliant century whilst skippering his Eastlake side in the Cricket ACT Grade Competition. His 181 scored from 218 balls helped Eastlake to 308/9 declared and in reply, ANU were 19/1 at the end of the first day's play (click here for the scorecard).

Spaseksi is enjoying another phenominal season, racking up his third ton in his last four digs for Eastlake amongst a chart topping 461 runs at 92.20 in first grade this summer.

Whilst his Comets team-mate was blasting the ball to all parts in Canberra, Devoy was wreaking havoc in Sydney for his newly adopted club this season Eastern Suburbs. The left-arm tweaker, who recently signed with Northants Premier League club Finedon Dolben, took figures of 7-61 from 20 overs to help bowl Campbelltown-Camden out for 253.

In reply, the Dolphins were trucking along at 116/1 with Aussie T20 ace Nic Maddinson (50*) and fellow CricX stable-mate Matt Condon (18*) undefeated at the close (click here for the scorecard).
