DOWNHAM TOWN have re-signed explosive Northern Knights batsman Nick Kelly following his exploits last summer.

Kelly (22) churned out 1,126 runs at 86.62 and took 35 wickets at 21.60 to finish runner-up and top of the batting and bowling charts respectively in the Premier Division of the Norfolk Cricket Alliance.

Following his season for Downham, he has excelled in New Zealand, breaking into the Northern Knights set-up across all formats.

He made his first-class debut against Auckland in October 2015 and more recently cemented his spot in the Knights T20 side courtesy of a 16-ball 36* (4x6s) to run down the CD Stags 170 eight down with 4 balls to spare.

A former New Zealand Under-19 player, Kelly has progressed steadily through to State cricket, following two successful National Provincial A Tournaments (averaging 38.40 and 35.20 with the bat in 2014 and 2015 respectively).

Given his success home and abroad for Downham Town, the Norfolk club are delighted to announce their swashbuckling kiwi will return in 2016.
