Gerrard Cross re-sign prolific Solway - 17/12/14

Daniel Solway NewGERRARDS CROSS are pleased to announce the re-signing of Sydney Grade sensation Daniel Solway for 2015.

Solway (19) enjoyed a productive summer for GX in 2014 finishing fourth on the Home Counties Premier Cricket League (Division 1) run charts with 529 runs at 40.69.

He has since returned to Australia and has set the Sydney Grade Competition alight courtesy of his run scoring exploits.

At the point of writing, Solway is second on the first-grade run charts with 461 runs at 115.25 with three centuries for Bankstown, culminating with New South Wales Under-23s selection.

In round two of the current first-grade season, Solway struck a brilliant 177 against Sutherland. His innings scored from 300 balls in 343 minutes included 13 fours and 6 sixes helping guide his Bankstown side to a commanding position after 96 overs (400-7).

A few weeks later, Solway struck his second "daddy hundred" of the summer against St George. Solway batted through the entire innings to finish 184 not out (24x4s, 2x6s) before Bankstown declared after 88 overs for 380-3.

He struck his third century of the season in a PG's match against Northern Districts towards the end of November. His 114 came at almost run-a-ball including 8 fours and 4 sixes.

Solway is quite simply, a run scoring machine and will certainly be on the Blues radar for State selection. Nevertheless, for the time being, he'll return to GX in 2015 where he hopes to continue his purple patch.
