MOLD have re-signed run scoring machine Heinrich Botes ahead of their North Wales League 2016 campaign.

Botes (19) is playing for Caxton Khosa in Gauteng’s Premier and Promotion Leagues and is a product of Hoërskool Florida, with whom he holds the highest individual score (183 from 131 balls scored in early 2014).

He has absolutely excelled in his transition to club cricket, making is Premier debut aged 17 for Caxton Khosa and racking up 1,010 runs at 38.84 with three hundreds in his maiden season (2012/13).

He followed up with a further 980 runs at 49 for the club in 2013/14 including a brilliant 207 whilst playing a one-off game for the 3rd XI against Old Edwardians.

In all formats of cricket since the start of 2013, Botes has churned out 2,733 runs at 39.04 including four hundreds and his breath-taking double.

He has been named Caxton Khosa’s “Young Cricketer of the Year” over the past two seasons, sharing the award in 2013/14 with South African Under-19s star Marques Ackerman.

In a view to fast-tracking his development, Botes played a season in Wales in 2015. Playing for Mold in Division 1 of the North Wales Premier League, he struck 532 runs at 44.33, in what was a very strong maiden stint abroad.

Given his success for Mold last summer, he has subsequently agreed to return in 2016 where he hopes to make an even bigger impression for the upcoming season.
