Irvine snap up South African duo - 08/12/16

IRVINE have snapped up South African duo Jonathan Waspe and Hanri Terblanche as their overseas amateurs for 2017.

Waspe (18) is a talented batting all-rounder playing for Old Parktonians, both Gauteng (GCB) Premier and Presidents League, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

For the past two seasons, he has been mentored and comes highly recommended by former Somerset coach Dave Nosworthy.

Joining Waspe is Hanri Terblanche, another young all-rounder from Joubertina, a small town in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.

He has represented EP Coastal Under-15’s and EP Rural Under-17’s. He is currently playing club cricket for Pacaltsdorp CC 1st XI following a season with Mandela Metropolitan University Cricket Club (Madibaz) in the Sedgars SWD Premier League.

The pair will join Irvine who will be seeking promotion in the Western District Cricket Union First Division next summer.
