Kingsley land major signing in Hayden Lanza - 09/12/16

Hayden Lanza

KINGSLEY have landed a major coup ahead of their Cheshire League campaign with the signing of Hayden Lanza.

Lanza (21) is a seam bowling all-rounder playing for the strong Western Suburbs District Cricket Club in Brisbane’s Premier Grade Competition.

Since his move to Premier Grade cricket in 2015/16, Lanza has impressed. He has played predominantly 2nd Grade (Alan Pettigrew Shield) with 6 matches in the top flight (my FootDr First Grade).

To date, Lanza has scored 563 runs at 16.56 for WSDCC, but it’s his seam-up that’s become his strongest suit. He has 81 wickets at 19.46 with 2 five wicket hauls and best bowling figures of 7-63.

This summer (2016/17), Lanza’s exploits in 2nd Grade (20 wickets at 14.45) have been rewarded with 5 outings in the top flight where he has taken 7 wickets at 18.43, including best figures of 2-9 (5) against the Gold Coast Dolphins.

He is now eager to cement his spot throughout the summer before hitting UK shores in 2017 to play in the Cheshire Cricket League for Division 2 club Kingsley.
