Lindeque signs for Durham's Castle Eden - 03/11/14

Aat Lindique DHS Rhythm all-rounder Aat Lindeque has signed to play in the Durham Cricket League for Castle Eden next season.

The 23-year-old South African, who plays in KwaZulu-Natal’s top-flight club competition – the Castle Premier League, is a promising off-spinner batsman who recently concluded an outstanding maiden stint abroad.

Playing for Dolgellau in the North Wales Cricket League, Lindeque was, without doubt division one’s stand-out all-rounder. He finished second and fourth on the wicket and run charts respectively with 39 poles at 11.79 and 633 runs at 45.21.

In his native South Africa, Lindeque is a product of Voortrekker High School and has represented Eastern Free State Under-19s and the Northerns Academy ‘B’ side.

He has played club cricket for Pretoria High School Old Boys (PHSOB) Academy, Harlequins (now known as “Willoquins”), Berea Rovers and most recently DHS Rhythm.

Lindeque is quite the prospect, who harbours ambitions to play first-class cricket and is eager to help Castle Eden to Durham League honours in 2015.
