LISBURN have signed Dolphins batsman Cody Chetty ahead of their NCU Premier League campaign.

Chetty (24) made his first-class debut at 17, played 9 matches for South Africa Under-19s and has more recently starred for the Dolphins and South Africa A.
He boasts a tremendous domestic record across all three formats scoring 5,401 runs at 29.51 with 6 centuries and 28 fifties across 192 matches.

He has been particularly dominant in the first-class area with 3,059 runs at 35.98 with each of his 6 centuries coming in this format.

Courtesy of his success, particularly for the Dolphins (1,673 runs at 34.85 over 32 first-class matches), he has played for South Africa A over the past two years.

Last year, Chetty enjoyed a productive 11-game stint in the East Anglian Premier League for Copdock and Old Ipswichian. He scored 429 runs at 47.67 before returning home to play for South Africa A in a Triangular Series against India and Australia in August 2015.

Chetty is a class act, who has replaced compatriot Heinrich Klaasen who recently pulled out through injury.

A Lisburn spokesman said: “While we are disappointed that Henrik had to withdraw because of injury but we are delighted to have secured a more than able replacement in Cody. We are looking forward to seeing him in April and we’re sure he will make a good impression on the pitch and while working in our restructured youth coaching system.”
