LYTHAM have signed Auckland Aces run machine Michael Guptill-Bunce for their 2017 Liverpool League campaign. Guptill-Bunce (27) is a prolific batsman who was the fourth leading run-scorer (859 runs at 45.21) in the New Zealand's Plunket Shield last summer. To date, the former national Under-19 keeper/batsman has played 20 first-class matches scoring 1,556 runs at 39.12, with 9 half-centuries, 3 hundreds including a career-best 189. The opening batsman has signed to play for Liverpool side Lytham in 2017, following in the footsteps of former Blackcaps' Warren McSkimming and Peter Fulton, who played at Church Road in the early 2000's.
