North County sign former Windies Test Player - 27/01/15

Brenton ParchmentNORTH COUNTY have signed former West Indies international Brenton Parchment for their 2015 LCU campaign.

Parchment (32) is a batting all-rounder who represented the West Indies in 10 matches across all three formats, in addition to playing 67 first-class and 43 list A games over an 13-year career (1999/00 - 2012/13).

During this period, Parchment scored 4,391 runs at 27.27 including 4 hundreds and 23 fifties over 115 domestic games.

In addition to his Caribbean exploits, Parchment has also been, without doubt, one of the most dominant professionals in English League cricket.

He has played much of the past decade in the UK, initially two seasons (2003-04) in Durham for Middlesbrough before embarking on a spectacular 3-season stint (2005-08) with Farnsfield in the Bolton League.

He churned out 3,968 runs at 67.25 and snared 200 wickets at 15.89 bowling a combination of seam-up and off-spin. He helped the club to league and cup success and subsequently named their club’s games room after him.

After numerous sub-pro games in the Lancashire League, Parchment spent a full season in 2009 with Ramsbottom (900 runs at 36 and 64 wickets at 17.15) and the 2010 season saw him continue to churn out performances in the Bolton and District Association League for Blackrod (816 runs at 48 and 59 wickets at 15.19).

He returned to the same league in 2011, this time for Flixton and although he didn't produce the same prolific returns, still managed 41 wickets at 15.93 and 371 runs at 30.92.

In 2012 though, he returned and rectified his performances, racking up 3 league hundreds amonst 844 runs at 56.27 then added 50 wickets at 13.76 with three 5-fors (best of 7-27) for Haverigg in the North Lancs and Cumbria Premier League.

Over the past two summers he has played for Haslingden in the Lancashire League. He has been one of the stand-out professionals with both bat and ball - 1,189 runs at 54.04 and 53 wickets at 21.26 in 2013 followed by 753 runs at 41.83 and 63 wickets at 14.44.

Parchment is a seasoned pro with a massive reputation who's now looking to replicate his success in Ireland this summer, after signing with Leinster Cricket Union club North County.
