Nutbrook nail kiwi Markram - 24/11/14

Ruan Markram NUTBROOK have recruited promising kiwi batting all-rounder Ruan Markram for the 2015 season.

Markram (20) is a hard-hitting, seam-bowling all-rounder who has enjoyed two successful stints in English league cricket over the past few years playing for Milford Hall (2013) and Wombourne (2014) respecitvely.

Last season, playing in the top tier of the Birmingham and District Premier League, Markram struck 479 runs at 34.21, following an incredible season with Millford Hall hitting 1,368 runs with 7 centuries.

In Division 1 of the Staffordshire Club Cricket Championship, Markram topped the league run-charts hitting 799 runs at 72.64 in only 14 innings. His tally included 4 centuries in the league, with a highest score of 155. He also weighed in with 24 league wickets at 12.56 with a best bowling of 5/13.

Markram is hoping to emulate his maiden season's performances for his new club in their bid for promotion in 2015 having finished one position shy in division two of the Derbyshire County League last summer.
