Pagon, who starred for the West Indies Under-19s and featured in two Tests against South Africa in 2004/05, showed his class, hitting 155 in Jamaica's first innings total of 404. He was assisted by strong contributions from David Bernard (70), Tamar Lambert (51) and fellow CricX client Brendan Nash (40). In reply, Leeward Islands could only muster 104 and 99 in their two innings, falling to spin twins Odean Brown and another CricX star Nikita Miller who took 16 wickets between them. Brown ran-up figures of 5 for 6 from 9.1 in the first innings, then followed up with 4 for 32 in the second. Miller closed out the game with 5 for 16 (14.4) supplement his two wickets in the first innings. But the match was set-up by Pagon who has returned to the first-class arena this season, after being overlooked in 2011. He hit a composed half-century against Barbados last week and has followed-up with his career best 155 here. Pagon will be remembered for his exploits at the 2002 Under-19 World Cup where he finished second on run aggregates to Australia's Cameron White. He belted 421 runs at 70.16 included a tournament-best 176 off 129 balls, an innings that included 21 fours and 5 sixes. Two years later, he was drafted into the West Indies side after a flourishing domestic season hitting 695 runs at 38.91. However, he slipped down the pecking order and only played 2 first-class matches between the 2005/06 and 2007/08 seasons. Nevertheless, he returned to the first-class circuit in 2008/09 finishing in the top 10 leading run-scorers in domestic cricket with 657 runs at 29.86. He then followed-up with 346 runs at 31.45 in 2009/10, but despite his impressive performances failed turn-out for Jamaica last season. Pagon has now returned to the domestic circuit in fine fashion and has set his sights on playing in the UK this summer too and he would be, no doubt, a fantastic acquisition.
