Josh Nicholas CRICX star Josh Nicholas bowled his Perth Cricket Club to a tight victory with a 10 wicket haul on Saturday.

The 22-year-old opening bowler took combined figures of 28.3-5-10-81 against Mount Lawley District helping his side to a narrow 16-run outright victory in the WACA Grade Competition.

The win moves Perth to second on the ladder only one point behind current leaders Joondalup after round six.

Nicholas set up the Perth victory claiming figures of 15.4-2-6-45, bowling Mount Lawley out for 110 in the first innings.

In a low-scoring game, Mount Lawley only required 98 in the second dig for victory, but were dismissed in 28.3 overs for 82.

Nicholas has been in sublime form for Perth this summer and his 10 wicket haul rockets him to the top of the WACA first grade wicket charts (23 wickets at 11.35).

His form has continued from a prolific summer in England where he topped the Derbyshire League (division two) wicket charts (61 wickets at 12.36) whilst also finishing 7th on the run charts (580 runs at 44.61).

UK Passport holding Nicholas is eager to return to Northern shores once more in 2015. He will be living in Mansfield and is seeking a club in close proximity.
