Pwllehli line up Griq West's Zandre Swartz - 30/01/15

Zandre SwartzPWLLHELI have recruited former Griqualand West keeper/bat Zandre Swartz for their 2015 NWCL campaign.

Zandre Swartz (23) is a former first-class wicket-keeper batsman who played 17 domestic matches for Griqualand West between 2009/10 and 2010/11.

He made his first-class debut in October 2009 and proceeded to play 6 matches, where he averaged 15.88. In List-A cricket, he averaged 20 over 11 matches, with the highlight his maiden fifty, a 59-ball 72* during an unbroken opening partnership of 140 with Aubrey Swanepoel.

Swarts put his cricket on hold in 2011, in order to pursue his studies at the University of South Africa. However, having now completed his education, Swartz is eager to break back into professional cricket.

He has been a steady performer in Premier club cricket for CBC/St Patricks over the past two seasons (average of 37 in 2013/14) and is hoping to excel during his maiden stint abroad in 2015.

Swartz is due to play in the North Wales Premier League for Pwllheli and is eager to make a big impression to impress Griq West selectors upon his return in 2015/16.
