SANDWICH TOWN have signed South Australian Emerging Redbacks star Jacob Dickman for their upcoming Kent League campaign.

Dickman (18) hit the headlines in November 2015 following his debut hundred in the SACA Grade Competition for Prospect District. He peeled off 111 – including 10 boundaries and one six – and combined with former Victorian Bushrangers all-rounder Alex Keath for a 170-run second-wicket stand.

He has continued to impress, hitting several notable scores, including 32 and 52* against Southern District in his last first grade outing.

The keeper/batsman, who is part of the South Australian Emerging Redbacks squad, has scored 296 runs at 42.29 in SACA’s top flight this summer and looks set for a bright future.

Dickman’s journey though began in the Northern Territory, representing the province through the age-groups and making the NT Strike side which played in the SACA Premier Competition in Adelaide, prior to the regular season last year.

He progressed through the Darwen Cricket Club ranks, earning a Premier Grade debut in 2013 en-route to 345 runs at 31.36 over the season.

He enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2015, hitting his fifth ton for the club, but maiden in the top tier (141*). He struck 466 runs at 38.83 and was subsequently scouted to play in Adelaide post season, following his NT Strike commitments in the SACA Premier Competition.

Dickman will spent his first summer in the UK for Sandwich Town who are looking to avenge their recent relegation in the Kent Cricket League this summer.
