SKELMANTHORPE have signed promising Dorset quick bowling all-rounder Michael Kitson for their 2016 season.

Kitson (23) is a Huddersfield-born quick bowling all-rounder who has recently moved back West Yorkshire, following several productive seasons in Dorset.

During the 2014-15 seasons, he has plied his trade for seaside club Bournemouth in the Southern Electric Premier League. During this two-year stint, he captured 29 wickets at 27 and scored 520 runs at 21.66.

Regarded by former Dorset player and Bournemouth skipper Martin Miller as “one of the quickest bowlers in the county”, Kitson was selected by the Minor County in 2014, playing Unicorns Championship matches against Herefordshire, Oxfordshire and Wales.

Last season, he also enjoyed two outings for Dorset in the Minor Counties Trophy competition.

A former Dorset Under-17s all-rounder, Kitson was recruited by Bournemouth following his exploits with Dorset Premier League club Wimborne and Colehill. He was a stand-out for the club, but moved to Bournemouth in search of higher honours.

Having broken into Minor Counties cricket, Kitson is eager to progress in the game. He has recently moved back to Huddersfield and joined Drakes Cricket side Skelmanthorpe for the 2016 season.

Kitson is eager to impress this summer in the highly competitive Premiership Division of the Drakes Huddersfield Cricket League..
