SPONDON have signed Aussie batsman Danny Irvine head of their Derbyshire Premier League campaign next season.

Irvine (24) returned to the UK for his second stint abroad last summer, scoring 688 runs at 43 for Brockhampton in the Birmingham and District Premier League.

Following his return to Australia in September he has scored 209 runs at 69.67, including a high score of 103*, for Glenelg Cricket Club in the West End Grade Competition.

He has played 71 matches (across all formats) for the club since he joined in 2012/13 and has scored an impressive total of 1,933 runs at 30.20.

Back in 2012 Irvine played his first summer abroad for Sussex ECB Premier League club East Grinstead. His 409 runs at 31.46 helped the club to third place on the ladder. 

Irvine will now return to UK shores for the third time, playing for Spondon who finished 4th in the top flight of the Derbyshire Premier Cricket League last season.
