Spondon snap up kiwi star Graeme Tryon - 22/10/14

Graeme Tryon SPONDON Cricket Club have signed New Zealand Under-19's all-rounder Graeme Tryon for their 2015 season.

Tryon (19) starred in UK league cricket this season playing in the Championship Division of the Drakes Huddersfield League for Marsden.

He finished third on the respective run (837 at 48.50) and wicket (40 at 13.33) averages including best performances of 178* and 5-42 to conclude an outstanding summer in Yorkshire.

The Zimbabwean-born all-rounder, who relocated to New Zealand as a child represented the New Zealand Under-19s during their Tri-Series with Australia and India in July 2013.

A schoolboy prodigy, Tryon attended the Napier Boys High School and has represented both Hawkes Bay and Central Districts through the age-groups.

Tryon has since played senior men’s cricket for Havelock North in the Hawkes Bay Premier Mens Competition alongside the Hawkes Bay senior representative side in the national Hawke Cup competition.

He is quite a prospect, one who is looking to push for CD' 'A' honours this season, before returning to join the Derbyshire Premier League club in 2015.
