TEWKESBURY have moved swiftly to source an overseas replacement in the form of Australian batsman Brandon Jacobs.

Jacobs (18), a promising batsman playing for Gosnells in the WACA Grade Competition, has replaced original recruit Dwight Thomas due to visa issues.

Following three years with South Perth, to include a handful of games in senior district cricket (811 runs at 23.17), Jacobs has spent the past two seasons with Gosnells, plying his trade predominantly in second grade (647 runs at 16.59).

Under the tutelage of former Australian and Warriors batsman Luke Pomersbach, Jacobs has established himself as a consistent performer at this level.

In 2015/16, he has scored 317 runs at 22.64 including 2 half-centuries. Jacobs is now pushing for a first grade return, having made his debut in the WACA top flight in 2014/15.

Jacobs is a talented cricketer, who has signed with the West of England Premier League club, following his maiden league summer in 2015.

Playing for Greenfield in the strong Saddleworth and District League, he scored 806 runs at 27.79 including 5 half-centuries.
