Universities' Larkin hits undefeated 157 - 12/10/14

Nick Larkin 200 CRICX star Nick Larkin struck a brilliant undefeated 157 for his University in the Sydney Grade Competition on Saturday.

Larkin (24) carried his bat for 96 overs facing 298 balls including 9 fours and 1 six. He shared a 108-run partnership with former New South Wales batsman and Sydney Grade legend Greg Mail as University finished 271-4 after the first day's play against Eastern Suburbs.

Not content with his exploits on Saturday, he backed up with 51 not out from 40-balls as he skippered University to victory over Northern District in the Kingsgrove Sports Twenty20 Cup the following day.

Larkin has been a stand-out on the Sydney grade circuit for several years now and to date, has churned out 4211 runs at 34.24 including 8 centuries (6 in first-grade).

Last season Larkin struck 866 runs at 43.30 and was rewarded with inclusion for the New South Wales 2nd XI in the Futures League competition.

An Irish Passport holder, Larkin has also enjoyed success abroad and earlier this year represented the Ireland national side playing 2 List-A matches against the touring Sri Lankan A side. 

Larkin will though, be hoping to continue his form throughout the grade summer in an efforts to push for State inclusion.
