Wembdon have signed South African Pro Nkululeko Serame for their 2019 West of England Premier League campaign.

Serame (31), nicknamed “the Professor” due to his qualification as an Advocate, has enjoyed plenty of cricketing success over the years through hard work, extreme determination and dedication to the game.

The evergreen off-spinner has represented South Africa Under-19s, North West, Western Province, KwaZulu-Natal, the Dolphins and most recently, Boland in all forms of cricket.

Serame is on the verge of 100 domestic wickets across the 3 formats, including 53 at 29.73 in 24 first-class games. Whilst known for his off tweak, he's a competent lower order batsman with 2 first-class half-centuries.

Not only a strong cricketer, Serame is a practising level 3 coach who's looking to utilise his experience on his return to the UK in 2019, following his maiden stint for London club Harrow St Mary's in 2016.

Speaking about the signing, Wembdon spokesman Daniel Bingham stated the following:

“We are delighted to have signed such an experienced overseas player in Serame. Thank you to CricX for an excellent service once again helping us find the right match".

"Serame will be our first choice spinner and bat in the top order. Serame comes with Level 3 coaching qualifications and considerable experience in SA and will form part of a new coaching team along side clubs Head Coach Mark Davies".

"2019 will be the first year of our long term to project to invest in our players with quality coaching for all our senior sides and junior sides with ambitions to progress in the WEPL".
