West Torrens seamer set for Stoneywood-Dyce - 05/03/15

Josh FidlerSTONEYWOOD-DYCE have signed West Torrens left-arm seamer Josh Fidler for their CSL Eastern Premier League season.

Fidler (25) is an emerging talent at the highly regarded West Torrens Cricket Club in South Australia, home of former internationals Peter George, Callum Ferguson and Redbacks batsman Kelvin Smith.

Fidler returned to the club from a country teaching posting in Mount Gambier where he was selected in the South Australian Country Team in 2013/14. He impressed coach Paul Pasculli during the Australian Carnival with his ability to swing the ball late.

The left-arm seamer returned to West Torrens this summer and was immediately selected in the top flight. He has opened the bowling in A Grade for the majority of this season and, given his skill set and ability to swing the ball, looks ideally suited to Northern Hemisphere conditions.

To compliment his bowling, Fidler is a capable batsman in the lower-order and, its envisaged he has the ability to bat higher in the order during his maiden UK trip in 2015.

Fidler will be keen to make a big impact for the Scottish club in 2015, who will be pushing for Premier honours this summer.
