WHWRCC sign run machine Byron Haycock - 02/04/15

Byron Haycock NewWEST HALLAM WHITE ROSE have signed South African run machine Byron Haycock for the upcoming season.

Haycock (22) is a talented batsman who has excelled in Hampshire League cricket over the past two seasons in-particular.

In 2013, the young South African struck five centuries en-route to a record-breaking 1,045 runs averaging 95. His exploits helped his Waterlooville side to promotion in County League Division One courtesy of an unbeaten 14 game winning streak.

Last summer, Haycock stepped up a few levels to play for Andover in division one of the strong Southern Premier League. He once again performed with distinction, finishing fourth on the division run charts with 487 at 44.27.

Haycock has previously spent his maiden season in the UK back in 2012 playing for Central Lancashire League club Rochdale.

In South Africa, the former South West Districts age-group player is a stand-out Premier League player and is pushing first-class selection.

For now though, the prolific Haycock is eager to replicate his exploits in Hampshire for West Hallam White Rose in the Derbyshire County League in 2015.
