Workington sign Easterns speedster Stanley - 06/03/15

Dylan StanleyWORKINGTON have signed Easterns first-class left-arm quick Dylan Stanley for their North Lancs and Cumbria campaign.

Stanley (23) is a genuine speedster who enjoyed a prolific 2012/13 domestic season, taking 34 wickets at 20.29 and 10 wickets at 23.50 in first-class and list-A respectively. His exploits culminated with the Easterns provincial "Player of the Year".

The left-arm paceman who regularly clocks in the low-80s (mph) has played 79 games on the domestic circuit for Northerns and more recently Easterns. He has excelled, particularly in the 3-day format having already taken 108 wickets at 26.70, including 16 at 23.12 and 14 at 33.57 in 2013/14 and 2014/15 respectively.

A graduate of the TUKS Academy (University of Pretoria), Stanley made his first-class debut for Northerns in March 2010, after a successful CSA Under-19 campaign for Border. He played two first-class matches in 2010, before moving to his current side Easterns for the 2010/11 season.

Stanley has played a season abroad for Worcester Nomads in 2011 but unfortunately he sustained a torn hamstring that hampered and ultimately curtailed his season. Nevertheless, he returned home to recuperate before helping lead the Easterns attack in 2011/12 en-route to 29 wickets at 25.44, including his maiden five wicket haul (5-53).

Stanley is a highly regarded young cricketer who is hoping a strong season abroad will help him push for Franchise honours in future.
