CALLINGTON have signed Zimbabwe Under-19 star Adam Keefe for their Cornwall Cricket League campaign this summer.

Keefe (18) is an outstanding talent who has recently played for Zimbabwe at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh, hitting a top score of 43 (from 47 balls) during their controversial 2-run loss to the West Indies.

Keefe is on the verge of finishing his final year at Falcon College, where he has excelled. This season, Keefe has opened the batting and topped the run charts for the 1st XI. He has also starred at provincial level, with whom he skippered scoring a best of 118* this year.

Former Zimbabwe international players Gavin Ewing and Heath Streak vouch for his talent, with the latter stating the following:

“Keefe is not only talented as a Batsman but is a fantastic Keeper as well. When I coached him I found him to be both dedicated and professional with a strong work ethic.

Adam is quiet by nature but very committed to becoming a professional cricketer. He is a natural athlete and was one of the fittest players when we did S&C testing.

I can pledge for him as an honest hard working young man and would be a great future investment for any Club”.

Keefe has recently signed with Cornwall League club Callington for their Division 1 campaign in 2016.

He will be hoping to make a massive impact for the club, who finished second and just shy of promotion last summer. Callington will be hoping to go one better this season..
