Kyle Marshall (25) is an explosive seam bowling all-rounder who has featured for Easterns in 35 domestic matches since his first-class and list-A debut’s in February 2011. A genuine match-winner, Marshall opens the bowling and bats middle-lower order at provincial level for Easterns, but bats higher in the order at club level.

To date, the former King Edwards student has taken 44 wickets at 32.41 in first-class cricket. He boasts best bowling figures of 7-52 (17.2) against a star-studded Western Province side that included the likes of Richard Levi, Alistair Gray, Pieter Malan, SA Engelbrecht and Bradley Barnes. With the bat, whilst he only averages 17.65 and 16.14 in first-class and list-A respectively, this in the main has been due to limited opportunities that said, he does boast highest scores of 89 (FC) and 50 (List-A) at provincial level.

Marshall earned his provincial call-up courtesy of two outstanding club seasons, where he was awarded the “best bowler” for the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons. He has previously featured for the Titans Colts during the 2011 and 2012 Colts Weeks and, in 2012 was selected to play in the African Premier League (APL) for Tata Super Aces, where he starred in both departments.

In recent years, alongside his Easterns commitments, he has also played in a local T20 League (Lenasia Premier League), a tournament in Singapore and also was a key player at National Club Champs and Colts Week.

Marshall is a talented all-round cricketer who is eager to progress to higher honours. He spent his first season plying his trade in UK league cricket last year with tremendous success. Playing in the Ribblesdale League for Barnoldswick, the South African all-rounder struck 854 runs at 44.95 and took 50 wickets at 24.44 to conclude a fantastic maiden season abroad.

Marshall is now seeking another opportunity in 2016 and given his success both home abroad, he represents an exciting acquisition who will no doubt excel once again next summer.
