Michael Kitson (23) is a Huddersfield-born quick bowling all-rounder who, last season, moved back West Yorkshire, following several productive seasons in Dorset. During the 2014-15 seasons, he has plied his trade for seaside club Bournemouth in the Southern Electric Premier League.

During this two-year stint, he captured 29 wickets at 27 and scored 520 runs at 21.66. Regarded by former Dorset player and Bournemouth skipper Martin Miller as “one of the quickest bowlers in the county”, Kitson was selected by the Minor County in 2014, playing Unicorns Championship matches against Herefordshire, Oxfordshire and Wales. Last season, he also enjoyed two outings for Dorset in the Minor Counties Trophy competition.

A former Dorset Under-17s all-rounder, Kitson was recruited by Bournemouth following his exploits with Dorset Premier League club Wimborne and Colehill. He was a stand-out for the club, but moved to Bournemouth in search of higher honours.

In 2016, Kitson played in the Drakes Huddersfield Premiership club Skelmanthorpe. He picked up 37 league wickets (at 29.05) and scored 462 runs at 25.67. A solid maiden season in what is a very strong Premier League. The talented all-rounder is now considering his options for the 2017 season and should he decide to move clubs, he will be a sought after acquisition.
