Nikita Miller (29) is one of the leading spinners on the West Indies domestic circuit, boasting an impressive 168 wickets at 18.61 at first-class level. The left-arm spinner from Jamaica topped the domestic wicket-charts in 2007/08 (42 wickets at 14.85) and his ten wicket haul in the Carib Beer Challenge decider helped his side to the trophy. His triumphant season resulted with an international call-up during the one-day series against Australia and Miller has since played 39 ODIs, 7 T20Is and a solitary Test against Bangladesh in 2009. He has though, been in a constant battle to cement his spot in the one-day team. He has often shared the duties with fellow left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn but the likes of Martin, Bishoo and Narine seem to be the preferred Windies spin options at present. Miller though, continues to lord the domestic scene. 38 wickets at 16.34 in 2008/09 and 22 wickets at 12.86 are testament to this. Predominantly the front line spinner for Jamaica, Miller has steadily moved up the order to be a regular 7/8 for what is one of the strongest teams in the Caribbean. He has also played two prolific UK league seasons, namely 2005 in the Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League (Annfield Plain) and 2007 for Fleetwood Hesketh in the Liverpool and District Lancashire Premier league. In the latter he scored 854 runs, including 4 centuries at 56.93 and took 50 wickets at 15.88, in a season hampered by weather (7 abandoned matches). Exceptional returns, in what is a very strong Premier League. Miller is now seeking a return to the UK for a third stint in 2012. To compliment his playing skills, he is a UKCC level 2 coach who integrates very well into a club environment and comes recommended very highly. Miller represents a high-class option for the 2012 season – one who will no doubt generate plenty of interest.
