Sam Flett (26) is a kiwi gloveman currently living, working and wintering in Edinburgh. Last summer, he enjoyed yet another productive league season, this time for RHC, finishing third on the East League (Championship) run averages with 350 runs at 51.43. This following two successful seasons in England for Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League club Morpeth (475 runs at 33.93) in 2016 following his maiden season with Devon League club Chelson in 2015 (545 runs at 49.55).

In New Zealand, Flett burst onto the Auckland Premier Cricket scene with a match-winning 40 not out to guide Auckland University to first innings points against Birkenhead in 2011-12. Flett shared in an unbeaten stand of 40 with number 11 Ian West to ensure Uni gained the all-important first innings points, with Flett unleashing an array of crunching square drives and pull strokes on debut.

His tidy work behind the stumps has been a feature of Auckland University's efforts in the field over the last three seasons. Flett's forgiving hands and acrobatic footwork keeps batsmen on edge. At home either standing back or up to the stumps, Flett is a quality gloveman and would be a fine addition to complement a strong bowling attack.

Flett's prowess with the willow has been seen across all formats and he notched up his maiden Premier hundred (112) during the 2015/16 season amongst 339 runs at 22.60. The prior two summers, he scored 349 runs at 29.08 (2013/14) and 354 runs at 27.23 (2014/15) for Uni.

A UK Ancestry Visa holder, Flett spent the 2015 UK season plying his trade in the Devon Cricket League. Playing for Chelston, he finished amongst the leading run-scorers in Division 4 West hitting 545 runs at 49.55 including a brilliant 111 against Stokeinteignhead. The then returned to Durham and excelled for Morpeth in the strong Northumberland and Tyneside Senior Cricket League before his move and exploits in Edinburgh for RHC.
