Mishkal Ramsaroop (23) is a top-class batting prospect who opens the batting for KwaZulu-Natal in South African domestic cricket. A product of the Dolphins Academy, Ramsaroop has played over 40 domestic matches across all formats for KZN and has particularly excelled in the 3-day first-class competition.

Over his 31 first-class matches, Ramsaroop has notched up 1,333 runs at 28.97, including 3 centuries and 7 fifties. He is also a useful contributor with the ball, with his off-spin taking regular wickets in both first-class and T20 fixtures.

Ramsaroop broke into first-class cricket as a teenager. After a slow start to his career, he found his feet hitting his maiden century in January 2013, followed by a second later in the season. He finished the 2012/13 season with 428 runs at 30.57, then backed-up with a further 508 runs at 36.28 in 2013/14 and 343 runs at 26.38 (2014/15). During these two calendar years (2013-14), the talented batsman scored 1,113 at 37.10 with three centuries. His exploits have not gone un-noticed and it seems only a matter of time before the youngster is rewarded with a Franchise debut for the Dolphins.

Ramsaroop was out of action for part of the 2015/16 season, which ultimately affected his domestic numbers. Nevertheless, in a view to getting further game time, he spent the 2016 season playing in Scotland. He impressed, topping the Western Premier Division wicket averages (32 wickets at 10.16) whilst also scoring 439 runs at 29.27.

The South African all-rounder is quite the prospect and is eager to continue his development with another season abroad in 2017. He comes highly recommended by fellow KZN player and CricX client Keshav Maharaj (South Africa A) who suggests he’ll be a fantastic batting all-rounder for any UK league club next summer.
