Damon Kerr (20) is a hugely promising keeper/batsman, formerly with Glenelg District Cricket Club, now Port Adelaide Cricket Club in the SACA Premier Competition. Kerr also features in SACA’s Premier League competition for Eastern Edge and is part of the SACA High Performance (Emerging Redbacks) State Under-19 squad.

Season 2014/15 was Kerr’s seventh season playing SACA Grade Cricket for Glenelg District – the last five as a senior player, after debuting in seniors whilst still eligible for the Under-14s. Kerr has been a key member of Glenelg’s A Grade squad for his final three seasons with the club. In 2015/16 he moved to play regular A Grade for Port Adelaide in a season where he struck 341 runs at 22.73.

Kerr boasts a raft of junior representative experience, having represented South Australia with distinction at the Under-19 National Championships (January 2015), two Under-17 National Championships (December 2012 and January 2014) and two Under-15 National Carnivals (March 2011 and March 2012). Kerr gained international representative honours with the School Sport Australia National Under 16s side which toured Dubai, UAE in October 2012.

His career-best score to date is his innings of 123 for SA vs ACT at the Under-17 National Championships in Hobart (December 2012). His career-best number of dismissals in an innings is 6 catches vs Queensland at the most recent National Under-19 Championships.

Kerr has also vice-captained his State at both Under-15 and Under-17 level and is the recipient of the prestigious Bradman Foundation Scholar (Scholarship) for 2015 (for elite young cricketers studying at an Australian university).

Kerr is a fantastic prospect, deferred his studies to play in the UK last summer. Playing in the Hertfordshire Leauge for West Herts, he struck 439 runs at 31.36. A precocious talent, Kerr is pushing towards full State honours and is contemplating whether he returns for the 2017 season.
