Evan Johnson (29) is an accomplished Australian all-rounder, currently living/working in Hammersmith (London) and seeking a Middlesex-based club for the 2017 season. And, if last seasons UK stats are anything to go by, the batting all-rounder will be in high demand.

Playing for Old Southendian and Southchurch, Johnson dominated the Essex League averaging a Bradman-esq 104.78 with the bat (943 runs) alongside 24 wickets at 29.88. Admittedly, Johnson was playing as the club's 2nd XI overseas player, second fiddle to younger brother David. Nevertheless, he clearly excelled, belting 4 tons, including a highest score of 124*.

Back in Australia, Johnson has played 1st XI cricket in Victoria’s Ringwood and District Cricket Association since the age of 14. A left-hand top order batsman and right-arm off spin bowler, Johnson has been a stand-out over the years for home club Warranwood, with whom he’s starred in three Premierships, one of which he skippered.

As a junior, Johnson represented Victoria in the Under-15 Schoolboys National Championships, in a team captained by current Australian white ball star Aaron Finch. In 2007/08, he was a Mick Baker medallist (Warranwood CC 1st XI Best and Fairest) and won the Rath Shield (most player points across all grades) and Best Under-21 Player. From 2008 to 2010, he skippered Warranwood. His three Premierships came in 2010/11 (Wilkins Shield), 2011/12 (Trollope Shield) and 2013/14 (Trollope Shield), the latter he skippered.

The 2016 season was Johnson's first in UK league cricket, however the previous season (2015) he enjoyed a successful stint as Player/Coach for Meraloma Cricket Club in the British Columbia Mainland Cricket Association, in Canada. During that season, he topped the club wicket charts and finished inside the top 10 leading wicket-takers in the strong Elite Division.

Professional, a strong knowledge of the game and an ability to communicate and engage with all personality types, Johnson has been a popular and successful captain, coach and cricketer and would bring experience, enthusiasm and a professional approach to any club.
