Pierce Fletcher (22) is a talented seamer who has had a storming season in Holland for HBS where he has smashed through opposition batting line ups picking up 33 wickets at 11.73. He has also been a handy addition with the bat racking up 222 runs at 18.50.

He has also played two further seasons abroad in 2014 and 2015, firstly for Poloc in the Cricket Scotland League - Western First Division (15 wickets at 13.13) followed by a stint in the Norfolk Alliance Premier League for Diss (14 wickets at 27.50).

Last summer back at home he played for Auckland University Premier Men’s in arguably New Zealand’s strongest club competition. Despite his youth, he is a leader within the group, skippering the clubs T20 side, in a club that features representative players including Finn Allen (Auckland), Ben Kitt (Notts) and Anthony Ireland (ex Zimbabwe, Leicestershire).

An exciting prospect, Fletcher represented the Auckland Under-19s at the 2013/14 National Provincial Tournament (6 wickets at 20.16), following a glittering career with Sacred Heart College 1st XI (72 wickets at 21.50 and 784 runs at 19.60) and Auckland Eastern Districts age-groups.

Kenyan-born Fletcher, made his College 1st XI debut aged 15, in a school of 1,200 boys. Originally an out-and-out seamer, he transformed into an opening batsman for a season, but is now developing into a genuine bowling all-rounder. His transition reaped rewards, both in-terms of performance and representative selection (to include the Auckland Secondary Schools side in 2012/13.

Fletcher is a promising cricketer, a strong leader who displays a great passion for the game. A consummate team-man, tremendous work ethic and highly dedicated player – he is someone eager to break into professional cricket in future.

Fletcher, who is assistant coach at Sacred Heart College and benefits from a Dutch Passport, is now seeking a return to Europe for 2018.
