Muslim Musa (21) is a sensational talent who seems destined for the international stage. He represented Afghanistan Under-19s on 14 occasions, to include 10 ICC Under-19 World Cup matches in the UAE (Feb 2014) and Bangladesh (Jan 2016). He was a stand-out performer and has since transferred his success at age-group level, to professional cricket, across all formats.

In his 17 first-class matches, in both the Ahmad Shah Abdali and Alokzay Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day tournaments, Musa racked up 560 runs at 24.34 to include a highest score of 166. With the ball, his skilful, yet sharp medium pace accounted for 31 wickets at 45.90 to include a best bowling performance of 5-104.

Courtesy of his first-class success, Musa was picked up to play in the inaugural APL (Afghanistan Premier League) in October 2018. He played all 8 games for Kabul Zwanan alongside the likes of Luke Ronchie, Rashid Khan, Wayne Parnell, Colin Ingram and Laurie Evans.

He finished third on the Kabul wicket charts with 8 wickets, behind Parnell (13) and Khan (10) an dismissed several notable players, including the likes of Ryan ten Doeschate (in the final), Shahid Afridi, Anton Devchich and Scottish international Calum MacLeod twice.

Musa really is a high-class prospect for the future and in a view to developing his game and pushing for international honours, he is keen to play a season’s UK league cricket in 2019.
