Thimira Jayasinghe (22) is a fantastic talent playing domestic cricket for Nondescripts in Sri Lanka. He made his first-class debut in February 2016 and has since played 6 matches, showing promise in each one to date.

Jayasinghe is a strong right-handed batsman and promising leg-spinner, who has produced starts in his last 5 first-class matches, namely 41 (v Badureliya), 37 (v Ragama), 34, 42 v Colombo), 54 (v Colts) and 53 (v SL Army) in Sri Lanka’s Tier A Provincial Tournament.

His success culminated with Matara District inclusion for Sri Lanka’s List A tournament in March 2017. However, he didn’t feature for Nondescripts last summer, a side that regularly features the likes of Jehan Mubarak, Angelo Perera, Farveez Maharoof and Upul Tharanga, to name but a few, but is in the mix for re-selection for the 2018/19 season.

Jayasinghe earned his first-class debut following his success as school and underage cricket. In 2014/15, he skippered Thurstan College to the All Under-19 (Division 1) final. During his Under-19 Two-Day career, he scored 1,583 runs at 31.04 (3x100s) and took 58 wickets at 16.79 (BB – 8-51). He has since excelled for both the Sri Lanka Ports Authority and Nondescripts Under-23 sides.

The talented all-rounder is now eager to secure a UK club for the 2019 season and is a player that comes recommended by several sources, including Ruvan Peiris, former Nondescripts Head Coach.
