Shane Burton (26) is a genuine quick bowling all-rounder who represented the Leeward Islands in West Indian domestic cricket. A punishing left-hand batsman and right-arm seamer, Burton has played 18 matches across the three formats to date.

Opportunities, though, have been sporadic since his first-class debut against the England Lions in February 2011. He played three matches in his debut season, then featured in white ball cricket during the 2012/13 season. However, limited success hampered further selection, until his return in November 2017, playing a further three first-class and List A games, respectively, alongside a solitary match against the England Lions.

Despite showing a lot of promise, to include a career-best 53 against Guyana, he failed to cement his spot in the Leeward Islands side. However, it’s anticipated that he’ll be in the mix for selection once again during the 2018/19 domestic season, courtesy of his exploits for Anguilla in the Leeward Islands club competition.

The Antiguan-born all-rounder remains an exciting and highly rated player, with plenty of potential. He is now keen to showcase his undoubted skills abroad in 2019 and would be a fantastic signing for any club next summer.
