Charl Cyster (24) is a genuine pace bowling all-rounder playing first-class cricket in South Africa. Regarded as one of, if not the quickest bowler in the Boland province, Cyster made his first-class and List A debut’s in October 2016 and has cemented his spot, across all formats, during the 2018 calendar year. To date, Cyster has played 15 matches for Boland and whilst he’s not set first-class alight with the ball, he has scored a half-century (60) and has impressed in both List A and T20 cricket with the ball.

The talented all-rounder broke into the Boland Amateur Provincial squad following impressive performances for the Cape Cobras Cubs (Under-23s) and Coronation Cricket Club in the Boland Premier League. Since making his 1st XI debut as a 16-year-old in 2010 for the latter he has since won a raft of awards courtesy of his all-round exploits.

He has been named the club’s “Best All-Rounder” and “Player of the Year” almost every season since 2011/12. He has produced some tremendous Premier performances, with a string of 5-wicket hauls and, whilst skippering his Kylemore Senior Secondary School, he also belted the schools fastest T20 century, scoring 120* from only 42 balls.

Cyster is an incredibly talented cricketer and has also impressed abroad, during this maiden UK league stint in 2016 for Broseley Cricket Club. He excelled in the Shropshire County Cricket League, taking 40 wickets at 15.20 (alongside 334 runs at 22.27) in the Premier Division.

Having broken into and established himself at professional level since his return to South Africa, the all-rounder is now keen to showcase his skills once again in UK league cricket in 2019. He will be a sought after commodity and one we highly recommend.
