Mangaliso Mosehle (28) is an accomplished keeper-batsman by trade playing for Gauteng and the Lions Franchise in South African domestic cricket. After years of toil and several notable performances in the Ram Slam, to include a blistering 39-ball 87, the gloveman was rewarded with a South African call-up for the 3-match T20 series against the touring Sri Lankans.

Mosehle did not disappoint, announcing his arrival on the international stage with a fierce square cut for six. He has, to date, played 7 T20 internationals, but given Quinton de Kock’s presence, he has played understudy since his final match in October 2017. Nevertheless, Mosehle continues to impress on the domestic circuit and, despite only being in his late-20s, is already a veteran of 330 plus games across the three formats.

Mosehle is a player that always seemed destined for international honours. He featured for South Africa Schools and the Under-19s, then progressed through the Academy, ‘A’ and Emerging Players system. He made his first-class debut for Easterns in 2008, then T20 debut at Franchise level for the Titans the following year. Mosehle has since racked up over 6,500 runs with 3 centuries, 30 fifties and 500 plus dismissals with the gloves.

He has also enjoyed plenty of success abroad, with stints in Holland (ACC in 2015-16) and England (Unsworth in 2017), albeit the latter was brief due to his national selection. The South African star is now seeking an opportunity to ply his trade abroad once again and has targeted options in Europe for the 2019 season.
