Brad Wilson (25) is a top order batsman who has played 32 first-class games for Northern Districts in New Zealand's domestic competition. Despite scoring his maiden ton in the 2007/08 season, he was overlooked for a State contract in 2008/09. However, eager to regain his place in the Northern Districts top order, he smashed 424 runs at 70.66 in last seasons National Provincial A tournament, including a hundred in the final and finished as the competitions leading run-scorer. His success had an immediate effect, gaining selection for the Northern Districts Twenty20 squad, hitting 91 on debut and was then selected to play for the New Zealand Emerging Players against the touring England A side. Wilson has compiled 1,529 runs at 27.80 including four centuries, but was particularly impressive in the 2008/09 season cementing his place in the Northern Districts side hitting 403 runs at 40.30 and backed up with 435 runs at 36.25 last season. A former New Zealand Under-19 representative, he played in the 2004 Under-19 World Cup hitting 144 off 118 balls vs Scotland in addition to compiling 269 runs at 53.80 throughout the tournament - New Zealand's leading run scorer. Wilson is also a handy medium pace bowler, who is a regular wicket-taker for his club side and also Northland who play the equivalent to Minor Country Cricket. Wilson has played three seasons in the UK. In 2005 for St. Margaretsbury in the Middlesex Premier League (Division 2), scoring 650 runs at 45 and 2006 in the Herts Premier League for the same club scoring 850 runs at 70. Wilson has continued to perform in the UK - his most recent season playing for Walsall in the strong Birmingham and Districts ECB Premier League (2008) scoring 671 runs at 44.73 - the leagues second leading run-scorer. Although un-qualified, Wilson has coaching experience both in New Zealand and in the UK, he is seeking another opportunities in 2011 with a club offering competitive cricket.
