Ashton is pleased to announce the signing of Jamaican all-rounder Alwyn Williams for their 2023 Greater Manchester Cricket League campaign.
Williams is an accomplished batting all-rounder playing for the star-studded Jamaican side in West Indies domestic cricket.
A top-order batter who bowls brisk medium pace, Williams broke into the Jamaican side, which features the likes of Windies stars Nkruma Bonner, Jermaine Blackwood, and John Campbell, to name but a few, in February 2019. To date, he has played 9 matches in the West Indies 4-day Championship, including 4 of the 5 matches in 2022.
Whilst he has only scored 202 runs in his 15 innings to date, and only 5 wickets, he is a significantly better player than these initial numbers suggest. Williams aims to produce the goods throughout the 2022/23 campaign before embarking on his maiden UK stint in 2023.
A player that comes highly recommended, Williams is set to play for Ashton Cricket Club in the Greater Manchester Cricket League next summer.
