East Lancs are delighted to announce the signing of Sri Lankan all-rounder Sanoj Darshika for their 2024 Lancashire League campaign.
Darshika is a hugely talented batting all-rounder currently playing for Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club, following stints with Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club (2018/19-2021/22), Panadura Sports Club (2020/21), and Chilaw Marians (2019/20).
Darshika has become a domestic stand-out since his first-class debut during the 2018/19 season. At the point of writing (31/07/23), he has racked up 1,383 runs at 43.21 in his 26 red ball matches, alongside 16 wickets at 35.68 with his developing leg-spin. He has also racked up 330 runs at 33 in List A cricket.
The former Prince of Wales schoolboy has, over the past three seasons, also dominated UK club cricket. Playing for Denby in the Drakes Huddersfield League (2021-23), he has churned out 3,119 runs at 62.73 with 18 fifties, and 10 centuries (including 2 doubles), alongside 29 wickets at 16.44 with 6 five-wicket hauls.
Given his exploits in recent seasons, East Lancs have signed the Sri Lankan all-rounder ahead of their 2024 Lancashire League campaign.
