New Farnley has pulled off a coup with the signing of Canterbury star Cam Fletcher for their 2023 Bradford League campaign.

Fletcher is an exciting wicket-keeper batter playing for Canterbury and toured England with the Blackcaps squad in 2022.

Since his first-class / List A debut’s in February 2013, Fletcher has played well over 200 matches across the three formats, where he has excelled.

He is on the verge of 6,000 domestic runs with an average in excess of 30 in these matches and his stocks continue to rise courtesy of his success in recent years.

In red-ball cricket, he has scored 506 runs at 31.62 (2017/18), 517 runs at 47.00 (2018/19), 233 runs at 33.28 (2019/20), 586 runs at 65.11 (2020/21), and 364 runs at 40.44 (2021/22) with 6 centuries during this period.

He has also been a key performer for Canterbury in white-ball cricket, with season List A / T20 averages of 25.16 / 68.75 (2017/18), 38.00 / 42.00 (2018/19), 34.00 / 58.00 (2019/20), and 78.00 / 31.50 (2020/21) respectively.

Fletcher has been rewarded for his domestic exploits in recent years. He has been Canterbury’s “Player of the Year”, “Batter of the Year” and “Player’s Player of the Year”, and has featured in New Zealand Winter Training Squad’s and ‘A’ sides. In fact, he scored a century for New Zealand A against the touring Indian A side in November 2018.

The talented Canterbury star is now looking to push for Blackcaps honours and with the recent retirement of BJ Watling, he’ll go head-to-head with the likes of Tim Seifert, and Tom Blundell for the gloves across the three formats.

For now, though, Fletcher will continue to plunder runs in domestic cricket and is set for a third UK stint in 2023 following prolific seasons in Yorkshire (Golcar) and Kent (Sandwich Town) previously. The Canterbury star has signed with Bradford League powerhouse New Farnley for their 2023 campaign.
