Church is delighted to announce the signing of Indian all-rounder, Sagar Trivedi, for their 2021 Lancashire League campaign.

Domestic domination

Trivedi is an in-form pace bowling all-rounder playing for Puducherry in India’s domestic competitions.

The former Rajasthan Royal’s all-rounder was an absolute stand-out in both red and white ball during the 2019/20 season.

After dominating the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20 – 5 wickets at 15.40), and Vijay Hazare Trophy (List A – 17 wickets at 11.64), he produced performance after performance in the Ranji Trophy (28 wickets at 14.35 and 236 runs at 29.50).

Trivedi’s cricketing journey

Trivedi is another former Mumbai star who represented the State in 4 List A and 8 T20 matches between 2015 and 2018, before deciding to move to pursue regular domestic cricket.

His move has clearly paid dividends. Figures of 4-18 (5.1) v Meghayla and 6-50 (8.4) v Uttarakhand in his opening List A matches, before an 8-wicket haul on first-class debut against Sikkim (5-20, 3-25).

Thereafter, Trivedi racked up a string of notable performances, to include evidencing his all-round status, with scores of 40 (v Sikkim), and 79* (v Arunachal) in first-class, to compliment a best List A score of 54.

High expectations ahead of his Lancashire League debut in 2021

The all-rounder, who has also earned praise from former Somerset, Northants, and Derbyshire quick, Steffan Jones, who worked with Trivedi with the Royal’s IPL outfit, is now looking to impress in UK league cricket having recently signed with Church and Oswaldtwistle for their 2021 Lancashire League campaign.

Speaking about the signing on the Lancashire League website, Chairman Phillip Sykes stated the following:

Church have signed Sagar Trivedi for the 2021 season.

Sagar is an Indian all rounder from Mumbai and his previous teams include Mumbai, Rajasthan Royals and Pudacherry.

A right arm seam bowler, 29 year-old Sagar has 28 First-class wickets at an average of just 14 and a batting average of 29.
