Akim Frazer is an exciting right-arm off-spinner from the island of Jamaica in the West Indieas.
He rose to prominence in the 2018/19 Windies Regional 4-day season when he bagged 8-134 in a Man of The Match performance on debut against the competition's defending champions, Guyana.
He went on to play 4 first-class games, bowling in tandem with Windies legend Nikita Miller, taking 20 wickets at 28.30.
Courtesy of his success, he was selected to play for the West Indies A against the touring Indian A team. His wicket-spree continued, taking figures of 3-53 in the first innings, including the wickets of Mayank Agarwal, Priyank Panchal, and Shubham Gill – the latter for a golden duck.
He also claimed 3 wickets against the full Indian touring team two weeks later in a President’s XI warm-up game prior to their subsequent Test series.
Unfortunately for Frazer, COVID struck at the wrong time, as he was treading the right path towards full international honours. The absence of domestic cricket last season has stunted his progress, but it’s envisaged he’ll return to the Jamaican fray when domestic cricket returns in February 2022.
Thereafter, he is eager to showcase his skills abroad and has targeted a season in England to continue his development in 2022.
