Ashish Hooda is a right-arm seamer who, over the past few years, has excelled for the star-studded Haryana side in India’s Ranji Trophy first-class competition. Whilst the tall quick made his first-class debut during the 2010/11 season, his under-whelming wicket returns resulted in sporadic game-time.

That said, his maiden five-wicket bag (5-27) and match figures of 9-67 helped Haryana to a 53-run win over the high flying Maharasthra side in 2014/15. A strong 2015/16 season followed as he topped Haryana’s wicket charts with 24 poles at 26.12.

An injury hampered his 2016/17 season, but he returned in 2017/18 to once again head Haryana’s wicket table (19 wickets at 20.31), then replicated his success in 2018/19 finishing 2 wickets shy of the top spot again, taking 22 wickets at 19.77 to include successive five-wicket hauls against Jharkhand (5-37) and Goa (6-54).

The right-arm speedster was at it again in 2019/20 with a further 27 wickets at 16.92 with best figures of 5-21 vs Tripura to finish second on Haryana's wicket-charts behind IPL star Harshal Patel.

Hooda, who plays for Haryana alongside International players Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohit Sharma, and Jayant Yadav, has been a stand-out in recent years and is now eager to showcase this talent abroad with his maiden UK league stint in 2022.
